Senior DOJ official: Biden’s wife should be charged with ‘elder abuse’

Senior DOJ official: Biden’s wife should be charged with ‘elder abuse’

Jill Biden should face ‘elder abuse’ charges if she pushed her husband Joe to run for the presidency despite knowing about his cancer, Donald Trump’s DOJ lawyer Leo Terrell has said.

Last weekend, the former US president’s office revealed that he has been diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer. The announcement met with mixed reactions, with some offering condolences to Biden and his family, while others alleged the diagnosis had been long known but deliberately withheld from the public.

Responding on X to a post by Ian Jaeger on Monday, Terrell, a senior counselor to the assistant attorney general for civil rights, floated the idea. The Internet personality and political commentator directly claimed that Jill Biden “knew about President Biden’s health problems… but still wanted him to run for president.”

“Elder Abuse! Criminal Charges??” Terrell wrote.

According to Biden’s office, the ex-president and his family are now “reviewing treatment options with his physicians.” The condition of the former president, who had been previously successfully cured of skin cancer, was confirmed during a routine physical examination.

“On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” the office said in a statement. “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”

Donald Trump offered his sympathy to Biden and his family, stating on Truth Social that “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,” he added.

The president’s eldest son, however, struck a different note, joining the chorus of those alleging foul play. “What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???” Donald Trump Jr. wrote on X. Many users, however, pointed out that the ex-president’s wife is not a medical doctor, as her title stems from her doctorate in education.

Trump Jr. made the remarks in response to a post by the CEO of Atossa Therapeutics, Dr. Steven Quay, who argued that prostate cancer was the “easiest” to diagnose, and it was “highly likely he was carrying a diagnosis of prostate cancer throughout his White House tenure and the American people were uninformed.”
